Building a Powerful Classroom Community

11:15am -12:30pm - Session II

Come explore various activities you can use to engage and empower students and build a collaborative classroom community. Participants will engage in a series of activities that strengthen relationships, make students feel valued, and emphasize positive mindsets, including Daily Questions, Visual Learning Selfies, Circle Sharing Routines, Vision Boards, Mathematical Mindsets, and more. There will be time to discuss, brainstorm, and iterate on ideas to make them more relevant to your classroom context as well as share related ideas that have been effective for you. We will discuss how making space for student reflection and relationship-building leads to student success, and why allocating precious time to these efforts is important. Participants will leave with activities they can start using the next day.
