Own It! Fostering Self-Directed Learning in the Classroom

Saturday, April 4th, 1:40pm - 2:25pm - Strategy Sessions

An essential facet of personalized learning is the development of self-directed, lifelong learning skills. Small changes to instructional practice can support students’ development of these skills. This session will focus on instructional strategies that can build the competencies students need to be successful as they reach adulthood, including learning menus, goal setting, and student-led conferences. After a short overview of each strategy, participants will explore, discuss, and plan around strategies that feel most compelling.
